It's All About the Cross

Church Service was truly moving today. From the Camp Crestview video which included touching clips of my son opening up to the Lord with tears streaming down his cheeks, to the truly moving performances of the youth worship team. God was present and it was awesome. Our pastor said that the cross is where humanity and divinity collide. It's the crux of our whole being- the "point" of everything. I firmly believe that's true.

There's no way around it. Jesus, wholly God and wholly man, was crucified for our sins. He paid a debt that we couldn't pay for ourselves and then offered all of the benefits of an eternal, blameless life to all who choose to follow him. To get away from the message of the cross, would be an ill-fated effort to sidestep the path to life itself.

It's an unfair trade in our favor, really; we trade our sin-ridden and filthy life, for one that is life. We die to ourselves and are raised with Christ.

Good Night
