While listening to a podcast today, I found myself zoning out on the words in some places. It was as if I was trying to "check off" each podcast I'm behind on, so I can effectively "catch up". But, I'm finding that the word of God doesn't work like that, if you expect to gain knowledge. You can't rush through it. Each book, chapter and verse is a tasty morsel that must be thoroughly chewed and savored.
Today, this verse caught my attention. for some reason, I kept thinking about it and pondering all of the potential meanings:
Psalm 34:10 (English Standard Version)
The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Lions are pretty powerful predatory animals. They're skilled hunters who rarely go hungry in the scheme of things. The Word says that they will experience lack, but those who put their faith in the Lord and seek Him will not lack anything. That's a pretty strong hedge of protection!
Good Night
