After a lazy morning wake-up, my wife and I enjoyed a nice walk around the neighborhood before getting started with our day. After lunchtime [for the kids], we put in a movie and popped some popcorn for them to enjoy. Meanwhile, my wife and I whisked off to the local eat-in cinema for our own date lunch.
The movie of the day was "The Expendables"; which was a supercharged-action-mega-movie if I've ever seen one. There were so many big name stars which seemed like ornamental garnish, I didn't know which way to look. I can't even begin to fathom the number of gunshots which were fired, but all in all it was a testosterone-fest that was worth watching on the big screen, in surround sound. If I had practical use for Terry Crews' fully automatic shotgun, I'd figure out a way to buy one!
But the crowning jewel of the day will be our family dinner in a few minutes. It's lasagna and garlic bread, but it's the company and conversation with the kids that has me excited. We're truly blessed to be able to come together for such a meal. Thank you, Jesus for every good thing you've given us today!
Good Night
