It's Totally Worth It

This morning when I got up, I had no idea of what would occur as the day unfolded. Once I was ready for work, I spent almost a half an hour on the phone with AT&T trying to activate my son's hand me down iPhone (my wife bought a new iPhone so he inherited the first generation unit). Once that task was complete, it was off to work; but not before stopping in at the church to drop off the kids for camp.

I'm glad I did. The fast pace of the morning broke long enough for me to catch a glimpse of my beautiful, happy children. That's the good stuff. On most days, I'd already be at the office and would have missed such an opportunity. I can tell you with conviction that on my death bed, I'll not think about the 28 minutes I was late for work. I'll think of the beautiful faces of my children- frozen in that perfect moment in time.

My supervisor talked with me about the unplanned tardiness, but I wouldn't have changed a thing this morning. It's little moments such as these that make all of the rest of the day worth it.

Thank you, Lord for these subtle reminders of what's really important in this life. Amen.

Good Night
