ABC has selected Salem/Keizer as the next site for a home extreme makeover and the kickoff meeting was held at our church, West Salem Foursquare this very evening! I was assisting the technical staff with various things, as the tradespeople flooded through the doors for a pizza feed before the EMHE production crew officially introduced themselves. Live music was provided by the local band "IV" and the Portland Trailblazer dancers made an appearance before the kickoff began. Many, many people were on site and there was electricity in the air.
Many people signed up to help the family, which has yet to be revealed, in the first week of September. However, volunteers and donations of all kind are still needed. This website is a great place to sign up if you can build, paint, donate furniture, provide gift cards, take photographs, etc. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and make a real, lasting difference in the lives of a family. Please consider stepping up this week.
