Full House Tonight

This day started out as any other, but by the end of the night, we have a house full of friends and family. My eldest son had arranged to have a friend over for the night, as he (the friend, not my son) is going to be moving to Portland in about a month. It was all set to go after my two eldest sons got home from youth group.

Then the phone rang. A dear friend of ours was in trouble. Evidently a house fire above the apartment broke out and was threatening the safety of the tenants and their pets. I've been there; living through a house fire in 1992. It's pretty disturbing, seeing that your life is in danger. Tonight, my wife was on the scene with our friend, providing support where needed while I held down the fort with the kids.

Rough night. However, I'm thankful that all of our friend's pets were located and are safe. The apartment also seems to be spared, so as she stays over tonight and gathers her thoughts and plans, we hope to assist in helping get things back on track.

God is good. From a packed house in Salem, I bid you Good Night.
