November

There's no more "heading into Fall". We're smack-dab in the middle of it. Blustery winds and rain, along with the sea of falling leaves of crimson, gold and fire are all around us. It's difficult to believe that we're heading into the home stretch of 2010! It seems like only a few days ago, we were beating the heat of Summer, giving thanks for the Central Air Conditioner.

November is definitely a time to move indoors, nestle in and prepare for the rapidly approaching winter months. It's a time of change and reflection.

Today marks unprecedented, painful reflection for a co-worker of mine. This past weekend, his wife passed away. Although I do not know exact specifics, she was battling health issues for a while. He's not too much older than I am (within 10 years, I'm sure) and it hurts to try and empathize. I can't imagine what I'd be feeling, if I were in his position. The pain and sense of loss would be unbearable.

Please join with me in prayer, for Derrick and the members of his family:

"Lord, Jesus. I can't imagine what Derrick is going through right now. Please touch his heart, and begin to heal the raw condition of his spirit. Please let him grieve in a healthy way, Lord. Please let him cling to you throughout this process and guide he and his family into a relationship with you. Please let him know that this is not the end of life, but the beginning. Amen."

Good Night
